graduated in february 2008 at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam in graphic design. Besides his main study course he followed several additional classes in motion graphics, media engineering, interface design, media theory and marketing. This web site is an online documentation of his graduation projects. The links given on the right side provide other projects he is involved in.

Besides his studies he gathered work experience at submarine, an Amsterdam based cross media agency. There he designed motion graphics for a video performance by Peter Greenaway and a dutch tv show. He participatied in the development of the Tulse Luper Journey, an multi player online Flash game, based on a story by Peter Greenaway. During the holidays he freelanced for Luc[as] Fonts in Berlin.

From 2000 to 2004 Thorben performed as a video artist for several clubs in Berlin. The interest in moving images kept on till today, as he is involved in several projects with dancers and musicians developing strategies to combine live video, music and dance.

Since 2003 he is freelancing as an independent web designer, designing and developing web sites for offices and start-ups. In 2008 he set up his own company in collaboration with designers from Berlin and Barcelona. Betterdesigners is developing logos, letterheads and web sites for clients in Germany, The Netherlands, Swiss and Spain.
